Layers of Cultural Identity: Alexandra Knox, Art 365

Art 365 Project: Exodus

Knox received one of five Art 365 awards of $12,000 to produce new artwork for the Art 365 exhibition.

Knox’s recent artwork has focused on discovering and preserving Ukrainian traditions through food. Exploring her heritage as a third generation Ukrainian-American, Knox traveled to Ukraine to meet family members, conduct research, and gather artifacts. Through food, installation and performance, Knox further investigates her cultural identity and family history.
