Reading: Public Art Network

So, we rarely repeat a post, but we want to be sure anyone interested in public art knows about the Americans for the Arts Public Art Network. It is the national resource for artists creating artwork in the public eye and for administrators who are commissioning artists. Besides the resources, like contracts, available online, they have a useful listserve.

We are enthused to help more Oklahoma artists receive large commissions and have the technical skills to make permanent public art. The ASK workshops for artists interested making public art will feature Stan Carroll. Carroll is an Oklahoma City-based sculptor with an architecture background. He will share his experience with fabricating large-scale work, working with clients, and developing projects. The workshops are meant to help artists apply to receive the Oklahoma Public Art Mentorship commissions totaling $75,000.
