Coming from a family of artists and musicians, Vaught considers herself a colorist who expresses her love for simple things in life.  Evident of her active travel, Vaught’s latest paintings from any trip are displayed on her lively blog. Last year she wrote and illustrated her first children’s book and had a painting accepted into Gilcrease Museum’s "American Art in Miniature" Exhibition.

Vaught said, “I’m not scared of a white canvas.” She emphasized she enjoys the process of creating as much as the end results.  “I’m not overly fussy and prefer capturing a feeling, an impression or expression of the thing or place,” she stated.
