Grant Profile: Brian Landreth

To prepare his artwork for his first-ever art exhibition, Brian Landreth received an Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition Professional Basic Grant. With the funding, he will frame his works and take care of professional needs such as business cards.

He will be showing a minimum of 12 works from his first year as a full-time artist at Vintage Coffee in summer 2011. The exhibition will be entitled “Whimsy Project.”

The Midwest City artist has taught at Oklahoma City Community College as an adjunct instructor. He has also been the Graphic Design Program Chair at Murray State College in Tishomingo and a Graphic Design and Printing instructor at Mid-America Tech Center in Wayne. He also works as a freelance graphic designer and creative director.

The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition provides project grants to artists to help themat watershed stages in starting and growing their careers. The next deadline is April 15 and guidelines can be found here. The program is supported by the Oklahoma Arts Council and Allied Arts as well as discerning individuals and businesses.
