Art Studio Tour: Bob and Sandy Sober

High school sweethearts, the Sobers went to OSU where Bob received a degree in Architecture and Sandy in Interior Design. After retiring from their jobs as an architect and interior designer, they took up photography and painting. They both love color.

Where you’ve seen it:
You may not have, which makes their participation in the tour that much more special. Bob’s Yellow Submarine paintings were recently on view at Circle Cinema, but as Sandy says, “People know us more for our volunteer work. They are surprised to find out that we paint.”

Ask about:
Hood ornaments, their artistic family, and how to make a really great purple.

Quotable:
“I don’t think you really know much about color until you start painting.” Bob

“I’m fascinated by color. Oklahoma air is full of red dirt so we’re often looking at things through a red lens without realizing it.” Sandy
