Arts Leadership: What is the Role of the NEA

The National Endowment for the Arts has long been a lonely voice for the arts on the national stage. Thankfully groups like Americans for the Arts and a stronger presence of arts educators have been pushing to keep the arts on the national agenda.

What should we hope for in national arts leadership and policy? The Obama Administration has a well-developed arts strategy. How can we influence the future of funding, policy and arts information? Beyond money, what is arts leadership?

If these kind of policy conversations interest you, the Western States Arts Federation blog is starting a 6-week series of dialogues on September 15.
