Advocacy: Copyright law

Artists and illustrators nationwide are concerned about the affect of The Orphan Works Act of 2008 Bill # H.R.5889, which would limit the control of artists over their works and copyrights. The bill has already passed in the Senate and is moving forward in the house. The Illustrators Partnership claims this bill would reverse copyrights by forcing artist to register their works in a privatized consolidated database and putting the onus on the artist instead of the infringer.
